Powered by the Digital Catapult and Future Cities Catapult, IoTUK is a programme of activities that seeks to advance the UK’s global leadership in the Internet of Things (IoT) and increase the adoption of high quality IoT technologies and services throughout businesses and the public sector. Claire was commissioned to write a report on UX and service design for small-medium sized enterprises developing IoT products, focusing on practical guidance and highlighting effective UK case studies.

O’Reilly Report, UX Design for the Internet of Things: why it’s more than UI and industrial design (2015, free, registration required).
This report, written as a teaser promotion for Designing Connected Products, introduces a framework for understanding the UX of consumer IoT products, from UI and industrial design, through interusability (distributed UX) and conceptual models, to productisation, business models and technology/platform enablers.
Claire is a regular invited conference speaker on design and IoT, with key engagements including O’Reilly Solid, O’Reilly Design, Thingscon, UXLondon, Thingmonk, Bosch Connected Experience and UXLisbon. (add links).
